Vol. 2 No. 46

DAIL IN COMMITTEE. - DAIL IN COMMITTEE.

I move to agree with Amendment No. 1:—"In Section 9 in line 4, to insert after the word ‘any' the words ‘County Borough or Urban, or,'" and also Amendment 2: "In line 5, of Section 9, to insert after the word ‘such' the words ‘County Borough or Urban, or.'" The power of proceeding in cases under the Vaccination Acts has to be transferred from the Board of Guardians to the Sanitary Authority of the District. A mistake occurred in the drafting of the Bill, which provided that the Rural Councils might proceed in the case of Rural Districts, but provision was not made for proceedings in County Boroughs and in Urban Districts. The necessary changes have, therefore, to be made.

Question put, and agreed to.

Amendment No 3.—"In Section 11, in Sub-section 4, page 6, line 5, to insert after the word ‘Minister' the words ‘in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1919."' I think this adds nothing to the meaning of the Clause, and it takes nothing away. I do not think it was necessary, but it does no harm.

Agreed to.

Amendment 4.—"In Section 11, in Sub-section 5, line 17, to substitute for the figures ‘1884' the figures ‘1834.'" This is the correction of a typographical error which crept in.

Agree to.
