Vol. 3 No. 1

[DAIL IN COMMITTEE.] - THE DAIL RESUMES.

Mr. O'HIGGINS

I think the Dáil might finally dispose of the Summer Time Bill to-day. It has passed its Second Reading and has passed the Committee Stage without amendment. There is really little more to be said in regard to it. There was no division on the principle of the Bill.

Question: "That the Dáil do now suspend Standing Orders, No. 74," put and agreed to.

Mr. O'HIGGINS

I move that the Summer Time Bill be received for final consideration.

Motion put and agreed to.

Mr. O'HIGGINS

I move that the Bill do now pass.

Motion put and declared carried.

Can we not get a division?

I think, according to the Standing Orders, that a Deputy calling for a division must rise in his place when the motion is put.

I said on the first occasion that I thought the motion was carried and a division was challenged. I thought there was a very small number challenging a division, so I again declared that I thought the motion was carried. A division was not challenged a second time, and I declared the motion carried.
