Vol. 3 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - COLONIAL OFFICE MEMORANDUM.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that the British Colonial Office has published an official Memorandum as to compensation for injury to person and property in Saorstát Eireann disclosing facts not hitherto made public in Ireland, and whether he will have that Memorandum circulated for the information of members of the Oireachtas before the Damage to Property (Compensation) Bill finally passes both Houses?

I have only just seen a copy of the Memorandum referred to. The main facts contained therein, so far as concerns the Government of Saorstát Eireann, appear previously to have been published, but it contains a certain amount of information which concerns only the British Government and which it would not be proper for me to circulate officially. I am arranging to have some copies of the Memorandum placed in the members' rooms for the information of Deputies.
