Vol. 3 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION TO RESIGNED R.I.C.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Committee of Enquiry into the claims of resigned and dismissed members of the Royal Irish Constabulary has as yet reported; and if provision for the compensation recommended has been made in the Estimates; further, if such compensation will be paid immediately.

The Committee has not yet submitted a Report. An Interim Report, covering the majority of the claims for compensation, is expected at an early date.

Pending consideration of the Report, no provision for compensation has been made in the Estimates. Legislation will be required before effect can be given to any recommendation that may be accepted.
