Vol. 3 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - INJURED BY MILITARY MOTOR.

asked the Minister for Defence whether any inquiry has been made into the circumstances under which on the afternoon of 27th October last, a boy, aged 14 years, named Thomas Collins, residing at No. 2 Clonskeagh, was knocked down in Summerhill and run over by a military motor driven by Driver Murphy of Transport Section, Portobello, the boy being severely injured, both thighs being broken, his life endangered, and subjected to permanent disablement; whether the result of such injury can be communicated, and whether it is proposed, and when, to render due compensation to the boy and his parents to meet the expenses incident, and to make proper provision to cover the boy's future loss of earning capacity?

I regret to say that there has been a delay in holding a proper enquiry into this accident. It will be held forthwith.
