Vol. 3 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - COMPENSATION FOR ATHLONE OFFICERS.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence if the Territorial Officers attached to the Athlone Brigade (now abolished), and who came into barracks with their respective companies at the outbreak of present hostilities, are entitled to payment as officers according to their respective ranks; if the officers of the Athlone Brigade Staff, who have done such good work during the present struggle will be compensated or given a decent commission in the Regular Army for services rendered now that the said Brigade is abolished?

The expression "Territorial Officers" is not a recognised expression.

The problem suggested in the question is not a general problem and cannot be dealt with in an answer given in general terms. It can only be that the cases of certain individuals occupy the attention of the Deputy and if the detailed information asked for arising out of his question yesterday is furnished the matter will have attention.
