Vol. 3 No. 7

[WRITTEN ANSWERS.] - A MULLINGAR ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he will state the cause for the delay in paying an account of £322 12s. 6d., due to Mr. P. Mullally, contractor, Mullingar, for goods, including band instruments, etc., supplied by him more than nine months ago on the order of the O.C. and Quartermaster.

I regret that there has been delay in settling Mr. Mullally's account. Portion has now been paid, and the matter of the balance is receiving attention.

also asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that last May an order was given to P. Mullally, contractor, Mullingar, for certain articles of furniture for the ante-room of the Officers' Mess at the Mullingar military barracks; whether these articles were soon ready for delivery, but were refused by the military at Mullingar, and if he will state the reason for the refusal and for the failure to pay the contractor for a liability incurred by him on the order of the military.

The furniture was ordered, as stated, and it has now been arranged to accept delivery of it.
