Vol. 3 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - SEPARATION ALLOWANCE.

asked the Minister for Defence if he was aware that Volunteer Patrick Burke (No. 5227), who joined the Railway Protection, Repair and Maintenance Corps (Class II.), on 2nd January last, and is at present stationed at Broadstone, has not yet been granted separation allowance in respect of his wife and child, although he has made numerous applications for same, to none of which he has received even an acknowledgment; whether as a result of this inattention his home has had to be broken up, and considerable suffering has been inflicted on his wife and child; and if the Minister will have instructions issued for this case to be dealt with without further delay.

Two applications appear to have been made by Volunteer Burke. His claim has now been allowed, and arrears of the allowance have been paid.
