Vol. 3 No. 13

[ WRITTEN ANSWERS. ] - COMPENSATION FOR MOTOR CAR.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that, on 30th June, 1922, Free State troops, at Mountbellew, Co. Galway, took possession of a motor car, the property of Mrs. Isabella McCormack, of Mountbellew; that a receipt was given for same; that the car was afterwards captured by the Irregular forces; whether a claim has been made by Mrs. McCormack for compensation, and whether, in view of the fact that she has suffered considerably in her business because of the loss of the car since June last, he will see that compensation is paid as soon as possible.

I am aware that Mrs. McCormack's car was commandeered as stated, and captured by Irregulars. Her claim for compensation is receiving due attention.
