CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - ARMY PAY.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Thomas Conlon, A Co., 3rd Batt., 6th Brigade, 1st Eastern Division, was called up by Commandant Cusack for 28 days' service in the Army on the 2nd July, 1922, at Longwood and Edenderry, and received no pay for the time he served, though he was told by Commandant Sean Powell, Edenderry, that he would receive the standard rate, viz., 3s. 6d. per day; further, that this man was at the time employed by Colonel E. Borr, Ballindoolin, and was at the loss of his wages during the time of his service, and to ask if the Minister will have inquiries made in the case with a view to having Conlon paid for the time he served in the Army.

Enquiries are being made in the case, and on receipt of confirmation of particulars of Conlon's service payment will be made to him.
