CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - COMPENSATION CLAIM (MULLINGAR).

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that compensation has not been granted to Mrs. Lizzie Quinn, Chapel Street, Mullingar, in respect of her son, John Quinn, who was killed while on active service at Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary, during the Anglo-Irish war, and whether the claim for compensation will be expedited, as Mrs. Quinn, owing to the loss of her son, is now destitute.

Mrs. Quinn's claim will be considered after the passing of an Army Pensions Act.

I would like to ask another question as to whether the Minister would think it advisable to send this Mrs. Quinn something on account. She is in very poor circumstances at the present time, and she is almost dependent on the generosity of her neighbours in the town of Mullingar, and I think it is——

A supplementary question has been asked. The Deputy cannot make a speech on it.

Will the Ministry grant something on account until the necessary arrangements can be made?

I will have the matter looked into from that point of view.
