Vol. 3 No. 19

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE—ESTIMATES FOR PUBLIC SERVICES. - NATIONAL GALLERY.

I move: "That a sum not exceeding £2,428 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1924, for salaries and expenses of the National Gallery of Ireland." (£2,216 had already been voted on account.)

Can the Minister say how soon he hopes to have the Gallery open for the admission of the public? It would not be worth voting this money unless we are going to enjoy it.

I will give very early consideration to that proposal.

Question put and agreed to.
