Vol. 3 No. 19

[ WRITTEN ANSWERS. ] - LOUGHREA COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence what is the reason for the delay in payment of the claim of Mrs. Killeen, Loughrea, for compensation for personal property destroyed during the occupation of the Central Hotel, Loughrea, by troops from 1st April, 1922, to 10th July, 1922, and whether he will expedite settlement of the claim.

Mrs. Killeen's claim had to await the setting up of machinery for dealing with claims of the kind. A payment on account has now been made by the Office of Public Works, which is responsible for settling the claim.
