Vol. 3 No. 21

ESTIMATES FOR PUBLIC SERVICES. - [THE DAIL RESUMES.]

It being now 6 o'clock, and private business being set down, this Committee automatically reports progress. The question arises when the Committee will sit again.

On Army Estimates?

If the Committee sits again on Tuesday, it takes up this particular matter.

Do we take it that this is the only Estimate that will be taken on Tuesday?

I am constantly being asked this kind of question. I am absolutely unable to say.

I think it is desirable we should know that.

If Deputies on Tuesday resume the discussion on the Army, and, if by some fortunate chance, they have disposed of the Army Estimates at 4 o'clock, the Minister for Finance will probably adjourn for one month.

Do you suggest, A Chinn Chomhairle, that he would do that out of surprise or astonishment?

I suggest it would not be unreasonable to expect that we should discuss the Army Estimates at the rate of one million an hour on Tuesday.

Progress reported. Committee to sit again on Tuesday.
