Vol. 3 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - KILRUSH HOUSING SCHEME.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the delay in proceeding with the building of six urgently needed houses by the Kilrush Urban District Council; whether this delay is due to the fact that no Clerk of Works has been appointed to supervise the execution of the work; and whether he can take any steps to expedite building.

The delay in this matter was not due to the fact that no Clerk of Works has been appointed. It appears, however, that owing to delay in the completion of the conveyance connected with the purchase of the site for these houses the contractor recently stopped work. It is expected that the purchase will be completed almost immediately and building operations re-started.
