Vol. 3 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - DEPENDENT'S ALLOWANCE.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that no dependent's allowance has been paid to Mrs. M. Flanagan, Athlone Road, Moate, for the period during which her son, Vol. M. Flanagan (who joined on 3rd July, 1922, and was recently discharged) was in the Army; whether he is aware that Mrs. Flanagan has a young and helpless family, that her son, prior to enlistment, contributed £2 weekly towards the household expenses, and that her husband is in a delicate state of health, and to ask that payment be made in this case.

No application for Dependent's allowance appears to have been received from Mrs. Flanagan, but on the information given in the question a claim has been proposed and is being investigated.
