Vol. 3 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - PAYMENT OF ARMY ACCOUNTS.

SEAMUS O CRUADHLAOICH

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that in Listowel, Kerry, many bills long overdue are not being paid by the Army authorities, although repeated applications have been made for payment, and that repeatedly certified accounts have been forwarded to the proper quarters; whether the Minister is aware that many small shopkeepers and merchants in the country cannot afford to have large amounts outstanding; whether the Minister will see that all those bills in Listowel and North Kerry generally are paid immediately.

An Inspecting Officer has been in Kerry for the last three or four weeks in connection with the collection of outstanding bills in that area. It is anticipated that whatever bills are outstanding in Listowel will be attended to without much further delay.
