Vol. 3 No. 24

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - DUNMORE (CO. GALWAY) ARREST.

asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been directed to the case of Thomas Kilgarrif, of Washington, Dunmore, Co. Galway, who was arrested on February 25th, and is at present detained in Galway Jail; whether he is aware that this prisoner has signed, or has undertaken to sign, all necessary forms and undertakings, that substantial sureties have also been given by responsible persons on his behalf, and the necessary formalities connected therewith completed; and if he will say whether it is the intention of the military authorities to release Kilgarrif.

Kilgarrif was arrested for having Irregular despatches in his possession. He has signed the usual form of undertaking and guarantors have countersigned the form on his behalf. The question of his release is, therefore, receiving favourable consideration.
