Vol. 3 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CARRICKMACROSS U.D.C. CLERKSHIP.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has issued a sealed order removing Mr. Finlay, Clerk of Carrickmacross Urban District Council, from office, and, if so, for what reasons.

The answer is in the affirmative. The Minister caused an investigation to be made by one of his Inspectors into the suitability of the several candidates for the position. Certain facts were disclosed which made it clear that he was not a fit person to hold the clerkship of Carrickmacross Urban District Council. If so desired, the Minister will allow the file of papers to be perused by the Deputy, or by any other Deputies who may be interested in the matter.
