Vol. 3 No. 31

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - IMPORTATION OF BOTTLES.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that 14,000 dozen bottles were imported into Dublin during the week ending 16th June, 1923; if he is aware that almost all the Irish bottle makers at Ringsend are suffering hardships, as a result of this wholesale dumping of foreign goods; if he will say whether the Government propose to deal with the matter.

I am aware that large quantities of bottles are being imported into Dublin from abroad, and have been in consultation with the Irish Glass Bottle makers as to the position of their industry. The question is obviously one of the kind with which the Fiscal Committee is being set up to deal.
