Vol. 3 No. 34

MOTION ON ADJOURNMENT. - RESIGNATION OF RURAL COUNCIL.

I beg to give notice that I will raise on the Adjournment this evening a very serious matter which I consider to be a question of national importance. It is in relation to the Athlone No. 1 District Council who have resigned in a body as a protest against the action of the Local Government Department in not sanctioning an appointment of a midwife at Glasson.

Is this the matter which was discussed on the Estimates?

It is the same matter, but I received no answer. The Council have since resigned. At the present time there is no member of the Council acting, and there is nobody there to give a ticket to anybody requiring it. It is the Athlone No. 1 Rural District Council.

It is the Glasson district.
