Vol. 6 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPAIR OF PATROL BOATS.

asked the President if he will state whether it has been decided by the Government to place some of the Patrol Boats for refit with the Dublin Dockyard Company, and, if so, whether Haulbowline and other repair yards in the Saorstát have been asked to tender for the work, and with what result.

It has been decided not to refit any of the Patrol Boats, but the question of placing two of them in a Dublin Dockyard for Lloyds Survey is at present under consideration.

Have tenders been asked for that work, is the Minister aware?

I do not know that tenders are necessary; it is simply a question of docking for survey.

Is it not desirable to get tenders for all such work?
