Vol. 6 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - EX-RATE COLLECTOR'S PENSION (MACROOM).

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state why sanction has been refused the Macroom U.D.C. to grant a pension to Mr. J. O'Sullivan, ex-Rate Collector to the Council.

To be eligible for superannuation by the Urban Council the Rate Collector should have devoted his whole time to his duties or have been an "existing officer" within the meaning of the Local Government Act of 1898. Mr. O'Sullivan, not having fulfilled either condition, is not eligible for a pension.
