Vol. 6 No. 22

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - GRATUITY FOR SOLDIER'S WIDOW.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he will give favourable consideration to the granting of a gratuity to Mrs. Margaret Tiernan (who, with her two children, are destitute), wife of Private John Tiernan, Army No. 32282, who died in the General Military Hospital, Curragh Camp, on the 15th January, 1924.

I regret that it is not practicable to award a gratuity to Mrs. Tiernan. Dependents' allowance will, however, be continued for a period of 26 weeks from the date of her husband's death.
