Vol. 6 No. 40

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DESTRUCTION OF KILBEGGAN HOUSE.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the claim of Mr. John J. McGuinness, Kilbeggan, amounting to the sum of £2,800, plus interest, awarded him by the Shaw Commission for the destruction of his house by British Forces, is still unpaid, and if he will see that this claim is settled immediately.

The award in question has been discharged as far as possible. The unpaid balance of £1,500 represents the amount to which a reinstatement condition was attached by the Compensation (Ireland) Commission, and it will be paid as the work of rebuilding proceeds.
