Vol. 6 No. 40

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DUNGARVAN MAN'S DETENTION.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the reason for the arrest and continued detention of Thomas Kiely, Mitchell Street, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford; whether any charge has been preferred against him and with what result, or if he is prepared to recommend his release at an early date.

Mr. Kiely was charged before a military tribunal with possession of a rifle and ammunition, found guilty and sentenced to five years' penal servitude. In the circumstances the question of his release cannot be considered.
