Vol. 7 No. 2

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR COMMANDEERED HORSE.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Mrs. Brigid Doyle, of Hospital Street, Kildare, has not yet been paid compensation for a horse commandeered in the town of Kildare on the 1st July, 1922, and returned to her after a period of about eight weeks, although application for payment has been made to the Claims Officer; further, whether Captain O'Donoghue and Private Michael Dillon (a native of Kildare town) who commandeered the horse, can verify the claim, and if so, whether payment will be expedited.

A claim was received on the 6th of March last from Mrs. Doyle in respect of a horse commandeered in July and August, 1922. It is being investigated with a view to early settlement.
