Vol. 7 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - ROAD GRANT.—QUARRY WORKERS' POSITION.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether it was the intention of the Road Department to pay the quarry workers who are working under the grant recently advanced to County Councils at the same rate as road workers.

If a County Council considers that quarrymen should be paid at a higher rate than the road workers by reason of the work being of a more arduous nature no objection will be made so far as I am concerned.
