Vol. 7 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MOATE CLAIM FOR SHOOTING OF COW.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Michael Ganly, Ballybeg, Moate, has lodged a claim for £25 in respect of the loss of a cow injured by National soldiers on the 13th of September, 1923, and to ask that payment of this claim be expedited.

No claim appears to have been received at Headquarters from Mr. Ganly.

Will the Minister make an inquiry into the case? I would like to ask if the President is aware that the officer of the Athlone Command told Mr. Ganly that the claim has been forwarded, and will he inquire into the matter?

That would only mean delay, and would effect no useful purpose. If Mr. Ganly puts in another application it would expedite the matter—I have no information that he has put in one as yet.
