Vol. 7 No. 27

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - CO. KILDARE SOLDIER'S REMUNERATION.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that William Delaney, Christopher Kane, Edward Mooney, Matthew Gilligan, Peter Kennedy, and James Jones, residing in the Carbury, Edenderry, and Moyvalley districts of Co. Kildare, were called up on the 31st June, 1922, for service in the National Army by Captain Murray, O.C.A Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Brigade, acting on orders of his superior officer, and served for various periods, for which they received no Army pay; whether the other soldiers of the company received full Army pay for their services; whether those men have had claim forms issued to them which were filled up and certified by their former Brigade O.C., and forwarded to Captain King, Paymaster, Portobello Barracks, twelve months ago, and whether those men have not yet been paid, and if he will expedite payment.

I will communicate with the Deputy in the course of a day or two with reference to the claims.
