TELEPHONE CAPITAL BILL, 1924—FIRST STAGE.

I ask the leave of the Dáil to introduce this Bill, which is one to enable money to be advanced from the Exchequer to the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs for the purpose of telephonic extension. The money will be charged to a special account, and will be repayable by means of terminable annuities over a period not exceeding twenty years. The title of the Bill is—"A Bill to grant money for the development of the telephonic system of Saorstát Eireann, and for other purposes connected therewith."

Question—"That leave be granted to introduce the Telephone Capital Bill, 1924"—put and agreed to.
Bill read a first time.
Second Stage fixed for Wednesday, 25th June.
