Vol. 8 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DELAY IN POSTAL DELIVERY.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that a parcel of goods ordered in Stafford recently took seven days to reach Sligo by post; whether any effort will be made to remedy this state of affairs, seeing that the case is only one of many that have occurred recently in the same area; and whether any steps are being taken to cope with the delays in the passage of dutiable goods through the post.

A complaint has been received of delay to a parcel sent from Stafford on the 13th instant to a firm in Sligo and not delivered until the 18th. The delay was probably due to the detention of the parcel for Customs examination, but the enquiries in the matter are not yet completed.
