Vol. 8 No. 1

PRIVATE BUSINESS. - FISHERIES (ELECTION OF CONSERVATORS POSTPONEMENT) BILL, 1924.—SECOND STAGE.

Is mian liom a chur os comhair na Dála go léighfear an Bille seo an darna uair. Is dóigh liom nach bhfuil nidh ar bith agam le rádh nar dhubhairt me cheana nuair a tugadh isteach an Bille.

I ask the Dáil to have this Bill read a Second Time. I do not think I have anything to add to what I said regarding the provisions of the Bill on the First Stage. The reason I ask leave for the postponement of the elections is because the Bill I had prepared, and which was squeezed out through a pressure of business for this Session, involves a change in the constitution of the Conservators. I wish that the elections should be held under the new conditions.

The Minister does desire to have the elections held?

I desire it very much.

Question: "That the Bill be read a Second Time"—put and agreed to.
Committee Stage ordered for Tuesday.
