Vol. 8 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MILITARY BEEF CONTRACT.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state who are the contractors for the supply of beef and mutton to the Military of the Dublin and Curragh Command; whether the contract was advertised and tenders invited, and if he will state how the offal is disposed of.

Beef and mutton for the Curragh and Dublin Commands are supplied from the Curragh Military Abattoir and the Dublin Corporation Abattoir, of which portion is leased by the Army. The necessity for contracting for supplies does not therefore arise.

As regards the disposal of offal, tenders are invited from the largest offal dealers in each area, and the highest quotation is accepted.
