Vol. 8 No. 5

GARDA SIOCHANA BILL—FROM THE SEANAD.

Is the Minister proposing to take these amendments now, and would he say, as a preliminary, what action he proposes to take on each amendment?

I was going to suggest, as a matter of convenience, that we might take amendments 3, 4, 5 and 6 first. These are amendments which, with very little comment, I propose to ask the Dáil to accept. Amendments 1 and 2 I propose also to ask the Dáil to accept, but I want to make very clear to the Dáil what has happened and the exact bearings of the amendments that have been passed by the Seanad.

It is proposed to take up the consideration of the Seanad amendments now and to move to agree with the Seanad in the amendments.
