Vol. 8 No. 5

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY (COMPENSATION) (AMENDMENT) BILL, 1924—REPORT.

Question—"That this Bill be now received for final consideration"—put and agreed to.

With regard to the Final Stage, if there is objection to taking it now, I will put it down again next week. It is a non-contentious measure which would enable the Minister for Finance to issue certificates and get through with the work. You cannot issue certificates until the Bill is passed.

Unfortunately, I do not think the Standing Orders will allow the Final Stage to be taken now. I think the Standing Orders effectually debar it in fact.

Very good. It can be put down for Tuesday next.

Final Stage ordered for Tuesday, July 8th, 1924.
