Vol. 8 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - MAYO OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he can state why an old age pension was refused to Mrs. Hugh Gaughran, of Binghamstown, Belmullet, Co. Mayo, and whether he is aware that a marriage certificate was furnished showing that Mrs. Gaughran, at the date of her marriage in October, 1872, was aged 19 years.

This claim was disallowed on the ground of age. No marriage certificate was produced, but the applicant is recorded as being 17 years of age at her marriage on the 15th October, 1872, and not 19 years, as stated in the Deputy's question.
