Vol. 8 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A BILLETING ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state when it is intended to pay the sum of £6 9s. 6d., due to Richard Cotter, Kilmore, Ballingeary, Co. Cork, for billeting of National Troops in 1922, as this man has made repeated applications for payment without result.

Only one application, which is dated the 28th of April last, can be traced at Headquarters as having been received from Mr. Cotter.

This is one of a number of cases received during recent months in which, owing to the demobilisation of the officers concerned, certification of the account as being correct, cannot be obtained in the ordinary way. A special method has, however, now been devised to deal with such cases. As a result it is hoped to have Mr. Cotter's account discharged at an early date.
