Vol. 8 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLONEE COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether the claim of Patrick Moore, of Portmanna, Clonee, served by Messrs. W. Smyth and Son, solicitors, on his behalf, on the 4th March, 1922, for compensation for personal injuries inflicted on him on the 20th January, 1922, by Irregular Forces, has been listed for hearing, and, if not, why not; further, if he will state whether a letter of Messrs. W. Mooney and Son, solicitors, dated the 28th May, 1924, was received by the Secretary, Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee of 125 Lower Baggot Street, referring to above claim, and asking why it had not been disposed of, and, if so, whether the letter has been acknowledged.

The application of the person named by the Deputy is at present being investigated by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, who will decide as early as possible whether it will be necessary to list the case for hearing. The letter referred to was received by the Committee, but as they were not in a position to communicate any definite information in regard to the case no reply was furnished.

Will the President say whether this letter will be replied to?

I take it it will.
