Vol. 8 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A WATERFORD EVICTION.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that Mr. B.J. Ussher, of Cappagh, Co. Waterford, with the help of a bailiff and Gárda Síochána, evicted Mr. James Moloney and his family at Cappagh on Thursday, 3rd July; whether he will state if this eviction was carried out by order of the court, and, if so, if he can state when that order was obtained; further, if he is aware that the tenant was willing to pay any rent due.

I understand that a decree for possession was given by the County Court Judge at Dungarvan Quarter Sessions on the 22nd March last against Mr. James Moloney, but that a stay of execution was granted. This stay was subsequently removed and an order for execution granted for the 2nd instant. The decree was then handed to the under-sheriff and duly executed.
