Vol. 8 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CAVAN GARAGE SHED.

asked the President whether he is aware that a garage shed was sold in January, 1922, by Mr. James Simons, auctioneer, at the instance of the British Military Authorities, at Cavan Barracks, and bought and paid for by Mr. Wm. Johnston, of Kilmore, Co. Cavan, who has not yet got delivery nor a refund of money paid; whether he can say to what authority application should be made for settlement of this matter.

The facts are as stated. The settlement of the matter is at the moment receiving the attention of the Department of Finance. That Department will communicate with Mr. Johnston in due course.

Arising out of the answer, will the Secretary say, on behalf of the President, that something will be done to expedite a settlement of this case? I have been after it for months. This man is out of £50 since the premises were purchased, and his solicitor has not been able to get any satisfaction.

It may be taken that the matter will be dealt with without further delay.
