Vol. 8 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - PENSION APPLICATIONS.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of applications sent to the Pensions Board by ex-National Army men, and by members of other organisations, claiming consideration on account of tuberculosis and other diseases contracted whilst in the service of the country, and if he will state the result of the consideration of these cases.

Very approximately the number is thirteen or fourteen hundred. As the Deputy is well aware, I have no power to consider the cases. They are outside the scope of the Army Pensions Act, 1923.
