Vol. 8 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - VACANT DAIL SEATS.

asked the President if it is intended to move writs, before the Summer Recess, for elections in constituencies in which a a vacancy now occurs.

It is not intended to move any writs for elections before the Summer Recess. There are at present three vacancies to be filled in the Dáil—one in North Mayo, one in Dublin City South, and one in East Cork, and it is the intention to move writs for elections in these constituencies immediately the Dáil reassembles in October.

I presume the Dáil will have no objection if the President moves now for the writs.

That is hardly a question for the President.
