Vol. 8 No. 21

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ACCOMMODATION IN KEOGH BARRACKS

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the proposed rents for housing and apartments in Keogh Barracks; if preference for accommodation will be given to ex-National soldiers, and if he will state when the barracks will likely be ready for occupation.

The fixing of rents and the selection of tenants for the accommodation to be provided in Keogh Barracks under the Housing of the Working Classes (Ireland) Acts are matters for the Commissioners for the County Borough of Dublin.

It is understood that the work of conversion will be sufficiently advanced to enable 50 families to be housed there in in the course of a fortnight. The entire undertaking will provide dwellings for over 200 families.
