Vol. 9 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MILITARY GUARDS AT GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS.

asked the President if, having regard to the fact that a state of war has long ceased, and in order that the Legislature and Government of this State may not wear the appearance of existing under military protection, he will cause the military guards and sentries now placed at the entrance of this House and of Government buildings to be displaced by police.

The matter has been under consideration for some time. A decision to alter the present arrangements is, however, not likely to be taken this year.
