Vol. 9 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RELEASE OF LISTOWEL ESTATE TRESPASSERS.

asked the Minister for Justice whether, in view of the fact that five of the seventeen men arrested under the Public Safety Act for alleged trespass on the lands of the Gentleman Estate, Listowel, over three months ago, have already been released, he is prepared to release the remainder of the prisoners.

If the men arrested and still interned are willing to enter into recognizances, themselves in the sum of £100 and two solvent sureties of £50 each, conditioned to keep the peace towards all citizens and to refrain from any unlawful interference with the use and occupation of the lands of Mountcoal, County Kerry, the property of Messrs. Robert and Arthur Gentleman, for a period of two years from the dates of such recognizances, I will be prepared to make an order for their release.
