Vol. 9 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - KILLORGLIN SECONDARY SCHOOL —OCCUPATION BY MILITARY.

asked the Minister for Defence whether any compensation has yet been paid to the proprietors of the Killorglin Secondary School on account of its occupation by military and consequent damage; and if not, whether he will, in view of the fact that the people of this area are now deprived of educational facilities hitherto available, see that such compensation is immediately made so that the school may be re-opened as early as possible.

No compensation has yet been paid to the proprietors of the Killorglin Secondary School in respect of its occupation by military. The claim is under investigation by the Commissioners of Public Works, who are responsible for dealing with all claims arising out of the occupation of premises by the Forces. I am informed that the delay in settling this claim is due to the fact that certain particulars which have been asked for by the Commissioners have not yet been furnished by the proprietors.
