Vol. 9 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MILITARY SERVICE PENSIONS ACT—QUESTION OF CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that individuals purporting to be acting with authority are canvassing ex-National Army men to submit claims under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, and charging a fee for the submission of such claims; if he will state if any person or persons have been so appointed and furnished with authority to make such claims on behalf of the Government.

There is no official information to the effect that any person is canvassing ex-Army men to submit claims under the Military Service Pensions Act. No person has been officially appointed to do any such thing, and anybody claiming to act in that capacity has certainly no authority to do so.

The prescribed forms on which claims are to be made are issued only to individual applicants, and no official recognition of any kind will be given to any persons seeking to act in the capacity of agent for applicants.
