asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether an old age pension has been refused to Mr. Ml. Connolly, Derrylea, Clifden, Co. Galway, and, if so, if he will state the reason for the refusal.
WRITTEN ANSWERS. - CLIFDEN O.A.P. CLAIM.
It is assumed that the case referred to by the Deputy is that of Mr. Michael Conneely, of Derrylea, Clifden, who was in receipt of the full old age pension since 1917. A question was raised early this year as to whether, on means, a reduction of the pension should take place. It was determined on the 26th August last that, from and including the 1st April, 1919, to the 1st January, 1920, the pensioner had not been entitled to receive any pension, and had only been entitled to a pension at the rate of 1/- a week as from the 2nd January, 1920. That pension would, under the Act of 1924, automatically lapse on the 5th September last.
