CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BORRIS (CO. CARLOW) COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can state whether any compensation has been paid to the relatives of James and Peter Farrell, Mullinagoun, Borris, Co. Carlow, who were shot dead by British Military in April, 1921.

The claim of Timothy Farrell, of Mullinagoun, Borris, for compensation in respect of the deaths of his sons, James and Peter, was investigated by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, who recommended the payment of an ex-gratia grant of £900. A Paying Order for this amount was issued to the applicant's solicitor on the 1st October last.
